Word games are among the best ways to make learning a language a pleasure
and fortify your spelling and vocabulary skills. Now TES, with funding from
the Jewish Continuity Foundation in the US, has produced a disk with three
Hebrew word games in one: Children and adults who are new to the language
will effortlessly absorb thousands of Hebrew words into their vocabulary.
WordGuess is a Hangman-like game playable at various levels of difficulty
whose object is to guess the hidden Hebrew word on a single line in as few
turns possible. You get empty squares, one for each letter of the word, and
use the keypad on the screen to choose Hebrew letters. If your choice is
correct, the letter on the keypad turns green; if it¹s wrong, it turns
red. The faster you get the word, the more points you¹ll get. The English
translation of the hidden word is shown by default, but you can switch this
hint off if you want to be more challenged.

The task inWordLogic is a variation of the first. You guess the hidden
Hebrew word based on the length of the word and on feedback from previous
tries. This time you enter letters that are either accepted or rejected and
then proceed to another line of boxes, trying to guess the word based on
your conclusions from the previous line.

WordHuntpresents a 10-by-10 letter grid full of Hebrew letters. You have to
look at Hebrew words given on the side and translated into English and then
locate them on the grid, where they are hidden vertically, horizontally or
diagonally. All in all, these simple word games are fun for Hebrew neophytes
of any age.
